Maybelline 24HR Color Tattoos Review & Swatches

I know the Maybelline 24HR Color Tattoos aren’t anything new, but I having searched the internet there doesn’t seem to be a blog that I can find that lists them all (or at least not the UK ones) So this is what I am trying to do. Apologies I do not have anywhere near all of them but as my collection grows I will try to add to this post.

As far as the product goes these are an affordable cream eye shadow often compared to the MAC Paint Pots.  The packaging is a sturdy glass pot with a screw top lid, this is the only real negative I have found for these. They apply best with finger tips but if you have longer nails they are almost impossible to get out of the pot. I have tried using these with brushes and I don’t really recommend it. If you are going to work with these with a brush I would use a very dense brush or I like to use the Ecotools Mini Makeup Brushes that come in a 6 pack.

All pictures above swatches are applied with finger tips, no primer and in natural light (no flash)

From the swatches you can probably spot the ones that are harder to work with.
Endless Purple while gorgeous in the pot is not as pigmented as some of the others and is a drier formula which makes it harder to blend.
Immortal Charcoal I find chunky and quite patchy, not the effortless smoky eye I was hoping for so I generally avoid using this colour even as a base.
Vintage Plum is the same, although this is from the leather effect range. I find it to dry to work with and it applies very patchy.
I know a few bloggers say the same about Permanent Taupe, and to a point I agree, however I find that I still use this colour dabbed on my outer corner on a “I don't have time but still want to look like I made effort” day and it works well.

Below I have tried to compile a list of all the shades produced by Maybelline, some of these are no longer available and I have tried to link them with their comparable US colours. I cannot guarantee that they are exactly the same but from photos I think they are pretty close.

  1. Loved this post! Very detailed you've done a great job on this! I'm usually not a fan of creme eyeshadows but you seem to have a few so they must be good. Would love to see what they look like on! Xx
